Further Seems Forever
How to Start a fire 20th Anniversary tour
with The Juliana Theory and Common Sage
House of Independents 9-16-23
On September 16th, Further Seems Forever Began Their How to Start a Fire 20th Anniversary Tour at The House of Independents in Asbury Park, New Jersey. This was my first time seeing a show at the house of independents and it surely didn't disappoint. The House Of Independents is located in the heart of asbury park, surrounded by shops, bars, and breweries. it's a perfect place for a venue in a town that has so many great venues.
opening the night was Common Sage, a band from Brooklyn, NY. They fit the night well with a post hardcore sound. they played songs from their albums,"where are you? I'm in Klamath Falls, are you here?" and "It Lives and It Breathes," along with their newest single "Hiraeth" which features Jason Gleeson of Further seems Forever, who joined them on stage for the song. they closed their set with a new song which I hope to listen again soon. follow them to keep up with new future songs.
up next was The Juliana theory playing an Acoustic set. Brett Detar and Joshua Fiedler commanded the stage from the start, mesmerizing The crowd who had their eyes glued to the stage, singing along to all the songs. Brett told stories from the stage and their early years playing shows with further seems forever, engaging the crowd. The Juliana Theory is with Further Seems Forever for a few more dates in September. head to their siteand get some tickets.
Closing out the night was Further Seems Forever, Celebrating their 2003 album "How to Start a Fire." the band opened energetically, playing songs from the album "telling stories in-between." The whole band was tight and Jason Gleeson was on point interacting with the crowd, who was singing back every song. the last time I personally saw the band was around the time this album came out and it was great to hear those songs again 20 years later. Further seems Forever continues their tour with the juliana Theory and Common Sage on 9/20 in Pittsburgh, PA and continue until 9/24. you can find tickets at Furtherseemsforever.com
