Coheed and Cambria and Taking Back Sunday
With Foxing
The Mann Center // 8-27-25
On August 27th, Coheed and Cambria lit up The Skyline Stage at The Mann Center alongside Taking Back Sunday and Foxing. With the open-air setting and perfect weather, the night was set for something special.
Foxing opened the evening and absolutely delivered. Their set moved seamlessly from delicate, ambient passages to raw, heavy moments full of screams and intensity. Even with only 30 minutes, they left a lasting mark and had the crowd fully engaged.
Taking Back Sunday followed, and out of the many times I’ve seen them, this was easily one of their best performances. Adam Lazzara was in constant motion, dancing and singing with the same energy that made the band a staple of the scene. Fred Mascherino filled in for John Nolan on this tour, and with Philadelphia being Fred’s hometown, the performance carried an extra weight for him. They kicked off with “A Decade Under the Influence” and powered through a setlist that spanned their entire catalog, including “Liar (It Takes One to Know One),” “My Blue Heaven,” “S’old,” “Flicker, Fade,” and closing with “MakeDamnSure.” It was a reminder of just how strong their live show is and it made me eager to catch them again soon.
Coheed and Cambria closed the night with a performance that was nothing short of epic. As “Yesterday’s Lost” from their latest album Vaxis III: The Father of Make Believe played as a prelude, the band stormed into “Goodbye, Sunshine,” sending the crowd into a frenzy of cheers and crowd surfing. Before the fourth song, the inflatable figure of Sonny rose from the stage, setting the scene for “Blind Side Sonny.” From the setlist to the stage design, this was one of the best Coheed shows I’ve witnessed. They blended highlights from Vaxis III with fan favorites like “A Favor House Atlantic,” “The Suffering,” “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3,” and the inevitable closer, “Welcome Home.”
If you are one among the fence, you need to see this show and if you aren’t, prepare to have your mind blown. The tour continues through September 21st. Get out there, go see it, it’s a great show.
