Low Cut Connie
with Will Dailey
Asbury Lanes
12-22-23
On the evening of December 22nd, the vibrant energy of Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park became the backdrop for an unforgettable musical experience featuring Low Cut Connie and a lineup of talented friends. Having previously caught Low Cut Connie's electrifying performance back in June at the Anchor Rock Club in Atlantic City during the Early stages of my journey into concert photography, returning for this show felt like a poetic way to conclude the year.
The main act, Low Cut Connie, currently on tour to promote their new feature film and album "Art Dealers," showcased an unbridled charisma and boundless energy that swept the audience into a fervor. From the moment they took the stage, Adam Weiner and his bandmates immersed the crowd in a whirlwind of singing and dancing, turning the venue into a pulsating sea of hands-in-the-air while singing along. What sets Low Cut Connie apart is their ability to craft moments that transcend the typical concert experience, transforming the audience into an extended family.
Adam Weiner's stage presence was nothing short of captivating. He seamlessly transitioned from the stage to the floor, jumping into the crowd to sing, dance on the bar, and establish a genuine connection with the fans. Throughout the night, the stage saw a revolving door of musical guests, including the soulful Will Dailey, the Fantastic Cats, and more, who joined in paying tribute to lost legends.
Prior to the main act, Will Dailey, a soul-stirring singer/songwriter, set the stage aglow with his hour-long performance. His soulful tunes and engaging stage presence not only warmed up the crowd but left a lasting impression, I am Hopeful to See him again.
The night featured tracks from Low Cut Connie's older albums and latest album "Art Dealers," a masterpiece that has rightfully earned a spot on my personal Top Ten Albums of the year. Their seamless blend of rock 'n' roll, soul, and infectious energy makes for an unparalleled live experience. As the band continues to tour, with upcoming stops in Ardmore, PA on 12-30 and 12-31, and a West Coast tour planned for the following year, fans are in for a treat.
As the curtain falls on this year's concert experiences, I find myself eagerly anticipating what the new year holds in the world of music. Stay tuned for my year-in-review next week, where I'll reflect on the musical highlights of the past year and look forward to the promising acts of the future. Until then, thanks for being a part of the journey. Get out there and catch a show—immerse yourself in the magic of live music.
