30 Years of River Runs Red Tour
Life of Agony // Sick of IT all // Thought Control
8-26-23

Life of Agony brought their "30 Years of River Runs Red tour" to Atlantic City on August 26th at Anchor Rock Club. The Anchor Rock Club is in Atlantic City on New York Ave, situated directly next to the boardwalk. it is one of the best places for independent Music in south Jersey. you can catch anything from local bands to Touring bands/musicians there. they also host dj nights, pop up markets and other events. be sure to check out their full calendar on their website here.
Thought Control, a New Jersey Based hardcore band, opened up the night with a mix of Hardcore Punk and 80's Thrash. as the first notes of their thirty minute set rang out, the vocalist John K. jumped out into the pit to start it off right. the band's bassist couldn't make it for the show, so a young man named Gabe filled in. At just 11 years old, doing a full show and being able to keep up is impressive. I look forward to seeing where he goes. you can check out Thought Control's newest ep on Bandcamp or follow their instagram here.
next on was the band Sick of it All. they performed a career spanning set, playing songs from their beginning to their most recent material. They opened with the song "Injustice system" from the 1989 album "blood, Sweat & No Tears" and the crowd went wild. the crowd sang along to all their favorite songs. there wasn't a body not moving through the entire set. Sick of it all Ripped through Nineteen songs in about an hour, closing out their set with "Step Down" from the album "scratch the Surface." Sick Of it all is on a little break after the August 27th show in NYC, but I'm sure it won't be long until they are back at it again. check out their website here. you won't regret it, I've been listening to them for the past 20 years or so.
Closing out the night was the headliner, Life of Agony, playing their 1994 album "river Runs Red" IN entirety for its 3oth anniversary. Let me just say the crowd was ready. as soon as the band started playing, the crowd erupted and the circle pit began moving. the people toward the front were glued to the stage hypnotized by what they were watching and sang along to every song. Life of Agony will be heading overseas come November. you can check out their website here.
