On 5-30, Gabe Woodrow celebrated the release of his newest album, Drinking Unsupervised, at 5th Company Brewing alongside Cheer Up Dusty, My Heart, My Anchor, and Hellotonii.
Hellotonii kicked off the night with a surprise acoustic set, running through five songs that quickly grabbed the attention of everyone in the room and got the crowd warmed up for the evening ahead.
Next was My Heart, My Anchor. Forgoing the stage and microphone entirely, he performed from the floor, allowing the audience to gather around him for an intimate and personal set. The stripped down approach created a spEcial atmosphere that fit the room perfectly and made every song feel that much more impactful.
Cheer Up Dusty followed, bringing their blend of pop punk to the stage. Their energetic set kept the momentum going, with plenty of singalongs that had the room fully engaged from start to finish. The band did what they do best by delivering catchy hooks, driving rhythms, and the kind of performance that makes it easy to see why they continue to build a following throughout the region. Whether it was longtime fans singing every word or first-time listeners discovering them for the first time, Cheer Up Dusty had the crowd locked in from the opening song to the last note.
Closing out the night was Gabe Woodrow, celebrating the release of Drinking Unsupervised. Drinking Unsupervised showcased emotion and storytelling throughout the record and Gabe and his band translated that perfectly to a live setting. Between songs, Gabe took time to connect with the audience, making the album release feel less like a concert and more like a celebration shared with friends, family, and fans. As the set went on, the crowd sang along louder and louder, helping cap off a memorable night and a fitting release show for a fantastic new album.
It was a great night of music that showcased a variety of styles while bringing together a strong local crowd to celebrate the release of an album that is well worth checking out.
